Jerry Paris
|
| Jerry Paris is a Past Chief of Shaker Road Loudonville FD and is currently the 1st Deputy Fire Coordinator, Car 2 for the Town of Colonie. He has been serving in the fire service since 1981 and is a Nationally Certified Instructor 2 and Fire Officer 3. He specializes in May Day, F.A.S.T., and Fire Fighter Survival Training. He has been the recipient of several awards including the Shaker Road Loudonville Firefighter of the Year 2 times, the Albany County Firefighter of the Year and the Hudson Mohawk Firefighter of the Year Award for Heroism in 2007 for his role in saving 3 trapped fire fighters in a structure fire. Chief Paris’ passion is passing on his knowledge to firefighters so that they can become more proficient in their survival skills and stay alive so the everyone goes home. |

David Macaluso

| David is a 20-year veteran of the Fire Service and serves the community of West Sparta as a captain and as the departments training officer. David holds a national accreditation as a Fire Service Instructor 1 and is a New York State Fire Service Instructor assigned to the Livingston County Fire Training Center. David is the owner and developer of Firehouse Solutions a firefighters training consultant. |

Teresa Stevens
|
| Teresa Stevens has been a Fire Protection Specialist with the NYS Office of Fire Prevention and Control since 2007. Teresa takes an active role in course and curriculum development for the Hazardous Materials bureau. She has lectured extensively in areas such as Hazardous Materials Technician, Clan Lab Awareness, Hazardous Materials First Responder Operations and Chemical Suicides. She has an A.A.S. Degree in Fire Protection Technology and is a past member of the Averill Park-Sand Lake Fire Department. |

John P. Sroka

| John is a Middle School Science Teacher for 31 years-retired. An 43 year member of the DeFreestvlle Fire Department and served as chief of the department for 12 years. He was a Deputy Director/Bureau of Emergency Services for Rensselaer County for 8 years. John has held the position of NYS-Secretary of States Fire and Safety Task Force, a member of the Fallen Firefighters’ Memorial Selection Committee, the Governor’s Appointee to the Task Force on Recruitment & Retention-Health Insurance. Served on the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs. Adjunct/visiting Instructor-City, County & State Fire Academies in New York, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Arizona, Montana, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Ontario and Yukon, Canada. Presently-Director of VFIS-Education, Training and Consulting for New York and New Jersey. |

Rick Lutz
|
| Rick Lutz is an independent logger from Prattsville, NY where he operates Lutz Logging. Rick is also on the Board of Directors for New York Logger Training and is a Trained Logger Certified (TLC) logger. CIRL course was adopted from his experience with working with his local rescue squadron and the apparent need for training in safely and quickly responding to a logging accident in remote areas. |

Michael Wilbur
|
| Mike Wilbur has been a volunteer firefighter for over 27 years and a career firefighter with the New York City Fire Department for 30 years. In the New York City Fire Department Mike was assigned to Ladder Company 56 for 15 years, 8 as an apparatus operator and in 1995 was promoted to the rank of Lt. and is presently assigned to Ladder Company 27 in the Bronx. Lt. Wilbur also served on the FDNY apparatus purchasing committee, and has given state certification to the FDNY chauffeurs school. Mike is also a contributing editor for Firehouse Magazine and Fire Apparatus Journal. He has also served on the IFSTA validation committee for the Apparatus Operator and Aerial Operator Manuals. Mike has served on the United States Fire Administration committee on Safe Operation of Fire Tankers and Emergency Vehicle Safety Initiative. Lt Wilbur is nationally recognized in Emergency Vehicle Operations, Apparatus Placement and Purchasing. |

New York State Office of Fire Prevention & Control

Scott Epps started as a Deputy Sheriff with Herkimer County in 1990, during this time he joined the Cedarville Fire Department. In 1993, Scott was hired by the Village of Ilion Fire Department as a Firefighter, in 1996 by the Office of Fire Prevention and Control as an Adjunct Instructor for Hazardous Materials and Domestic Preparedness, in 1998 again by the Office as a State Fire Instructor for Herkimer County. In October of 2002, Scott resigned from his previous affiliations, and was hired full time with the Office of Fire Prevention and Control in the Hazardous Materials and Homeland Security Bureau. In 2005 he transferred to the Fire Service Bureau where he now serves as a Fire Protection Specialist 1 covering Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, and Oswego Counties.
Richard Ward joined the fire service in 1982 with the East Herkimer FD. He has completed 26 years in the fire service and presently in his fifth year as chief. He was hired in 1997 by the City of Little Falls Fire Department. In 2003, he was appointed to Asst. Chief and also serves as municipal training officer. Chief Ward has also been a NYS Fire Instructor since 2001 for Herkimer County and serves as an Investigator for Herkimer County Cause and Origin Team.
Scot Burritt Chief Burritt has been involved in Emergency Services for 22 years in both the Emergency Medical field and the Fire Service. Retiring in 2001 from the Medical field as a Paramedic, Scot turned his full attention to the Fire Service. With 17 years in the Fire Service and the last 10 of those as the Chief of the Poland Volunteer Fire Co Inc. Chief Burritt became a Herkimer County NYS Fire Instructor in 2007 providing OFPC curriculum courses to students in both Herkimer and Oneida County.
